As a photographer, some of the most asked questions that I get are about “how to get children into the modeling profession.” Always, my response is the same: “I am a photographer and not a talent representative or talent agent. I do not have the knowledge or the skills to do so. I am a photographer. I take pictures.”

I understand the constant questions. However, understanding the questions doesn’t make me an expert in the field of modeling – especially child modeling.

What I do know is that in the absence of the proper information and knowledge of the child modeling industry, most experiences by children and their supportive parents are predictably disastrous! No matter how cute and/or talented their child is! Almost 100% of the time!

Consequently, I always encourage parents to get informed about the industry before they do anything else. This page includes a few books about the child modeling industry. I strongly urge parents that want to help their child have a successful experience in modeling to become informed first! You will do your child and yourself a big favor by obtaining and reading at least one of the books recommended below.
